1. Jadaveon Clowney - DE - S. Carolina

TRADE - Let's assume the Falcons swing for the fences this year and trade their first, second and next year's first round pick to move up 5 spots and take Clowney. He'll instantly boost a mediocre defense and make Atlanta a contender again in 2014. The Texans get extra picks to fill more holes.
Picture

2. Sammy Watkins - WR - Clemson

I'm not sure this is the directions the Rams will go here, but for today let's put Watkins here as he's one of the top prospects in the draft and will add speed to the Rams pedestrian offense.
Picture

3. KAHLIL MACK - LB - BUFFALO

Mack could end up going #1 overall, but he ends up at #3 to the Jags who have been desperate for help on defense for years. Outside of the 13 Jaguars fans out there, how many people could name ONE player on Jacksonville's defense in 2013? Exactly!
Picture

4. Mike Evans - WR - Texas A&M

TRADE - Mike Evans = Julio Jones. A few years ago the Bengals took A.J. Green early in the draft leaving Julio Jones as the next top-tier WR on the board. This year the Rams take Watkins at #2 and the Bucs feel the need to trade up in front of Oakland to nab the second best WR.

5. Greg RoBinson - T - Auburn

The Raiders O-Line is terrible and Robinson can come in and play LT or RT right away and fills a huge need. As mentioned above, I see him as a long-term bust but time will tell.
Picture

6.  Blake Bortles - QB - UCF

Bortles might go #1 overall, but the Texans move down five spots and still get their man here. I'm not a Bortles fan personally, but he looks and speaks like the prototypical NFL QB and that gets him drafted higher than he should.

7. Justin Gilbert - CB - OkLA. State

TRADE - The Browns move down a few spots from #4, pick up an additional 3rd round pick this year and 4th next year and turn around and take the top CB in the draft in Gilbert. I could argue that CB is the Browns biggest need and Gilbert is an instant starter and huge upgrade from Buster Skrine who is best suited to be a slot, nickel corner. (If this were me - I'm taking Johnny Football!)

8. Johnny Manziel - QB - Texas A&M

The Vikings can't really start the year with Christian Ponder or Matt Cassel behind center can they? Really? They take the big leap here that the first 7 teams weren't willing to take and get Johnny Football. Can he bring them the magic that Favre brought them for a year?
Picture

9. Jake Matthews - T - Texas A&M

The Bills haven't had a solid O-Line in a long time and they finally shore up the LT spot with Matthews here. I think Matthews is the best O-Linemen in the draft and is a steal here at #9. My friends who are Bills fans won't be excited about this pick, but it fills a giant need.
Picture

10. Darqueze Denard - CB - Mich. St.

The Lions could go a number of directions here, but the signing of Golden Tate at WR filled a big need so the Lions decide to finally try to plug the gap at CB with the selection of Denard.
Picture

11. Eric Ebron - TE - North Carolina

The Titans pull a bit of a surprise here and take the best player on their board with Eric Ebron. He'll be a big, athletic target and safety valve for Jake Locker who is in a sink or swim season in Tennessee.
Picture

12. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix - S - Alabama

The G-Men almost ALWAYS take a defensive lineman in a position like this, but I see them filling a need in their secondary with the best player on the board with Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.
Picture

13. Taylor LEwan - T - Michigan

Since the Rams pulled a bit of a surprise at #2 in taking Watkins over a tackle, they come back and take Lewan here at #13 to fill that need.
Picture

14. CALVIN PRYOR - S - LOUISVILLE

The Bears have a HUGE void in the secondary at safety and they take the best SS in the draft with Pryor here. I think they also think long and hard about Anthony Barr, but "need" wins out with two highly ranked players on their board.
Picture

15. Kyle Fuller - CB - Virginia Tech

The Steelers could go a number of different directions here as for the first time in a long time they have numerous areas of need. I think they choose to get younger on defense and take Kyle Fuller at CB which is higher than most expect.
Picture

16. Anthony Barr - LB - UCLA

With the departure of Demarcus Ware this off-season the Cowboys will be looking to find someone to pressure opposing QB's. They take their man in Barr here who has a high ceiling, but not a ton of experience at LB.
Picture

17. Jimmie Ward - S - Northern Illinois

The Ravens have a few needs and Safety is a big one. With the top two, in most people's minds, off the board the Ravens decide to take Ward here.
Picture

18. Marqise Lee - WR - USC

I keep hearing people talking about Odell Beckham and Brandon Cooks, but I can't put either of those guys in front of Lee. He played in a terrible offense in 2013 and should go off the board before some of the other WR's in this draft.
Picture

19. Cyrus Kouandijo - T - Alabama

The Dolphins O-Line was a trainwreck in 2013 and they begin the rebuilding process here with a HUGE T who should be able to start right away.
Picture

20. C.J. Mosley - LB - Alabama

The Cardinals lost Carlos Dansby to the Browns in free agency and they look to replace him with a younger LB in Mosley. To me, Mosley is average and doesn't wow me in anything, but we'll see how he turns out.
Picture

21. Aaron Donald - DT - Pittsburgh

I don't quite get the hype behind Aaron Donald, but I'm no expert. I just think DT's aren't valued as much as the skill positions and that's why Donald drops to the Packers here at #21.
Picture

22. Brandon Cooks - WR - Oregon St.

Lightning fast, quick, great hands...a perfect fit and weapon for Chip Kelly and the Eagles on offense.
Picture

23. Odell Beckham Jr. - WR - LSU

No change here this week...the Chiefs haven't had a solid WR group in years and they try to bolster their offense with the addition of Beckham.
Picture

24. Kony Ealy - DE - MISSOURI

The Bengals hope to find another DE who can rush the passer and without many 4-3 DE in this draft they take Ealy here.
Picture

25. ZacK Martin - T - Notre Dame

No change - a solid tackle/guard prospect in Martin is a good fit for San Diego who could use his versatility to help protect Phillip Rivers.
Picture

26. Chris Borland - LB - Wisconsin

I know teams say they are taking the best player on their board, but the Browns need another MLB next to Carlos Dansby and I love Chris Borland from Wisconsin and I think Ray Farmer, Mike Pettine and company will too. With a deep WR class they'll look there in Round 3 and likely take a QB at the top of Round 2.
Picture

27. DEE FORD - DE/OLB - AUBURN

The Saints need pass rushers for Rob Ryan's 3-4 defense and Ford is one of the few 3-4 OLB in this draft who can get to the QB. He sneaks into the first round here to the Saints.
Picture

28. Morgan Moses - T - Virginia

No change for the Panthers...with the loss of numerous offensive linemen this off-season, the Panthers need to replace them to give Cam Newton time in the pocket. The 5th tackle goes in the first round to the Panthers.
Picture

29. Teddy Bridgewater - QB - Louisville

TRADE - The Jags make a trade with the Patriots to get back in the first round to take their next QB in Teddy Bridgewater. There's no way the Jags can start the season with only Chad Henne as a candidate to be their starter.
Picture

30. Louis Nix III - DT - Notre Dame

No change for the Niners...they are getting older up front and need to start replacing them with young talent. They take the massive Nix here who can play NT or DE in their 3-4 scheme.
Picture

31. Bradley Roby - CB - Ohio State

No change here...even with Roby's run-in with the law I think he still sneaks in to the bottom of the first round. I'm not a huge fan myself, but he's big and athletic which are qualities needed in CB's these days.
Picture

32. Ryan Shazier - LB - ohio State

Two Buckeyes wrap up the first round as the Seahawks take the freakisly athletic Shazier who can
