Updated Round 2 Coming Soon...

Picture

Cam Newton - QB - Auburn

No change yet...I've had Cam Newton here longer than any other Mock Draft I've read and am sticking to my guns. Personally, I think he's going to be somewhere in between JaMarcus Russell and Vince Young when it comes to NFL production.
Picture

Marcell Dareus - DT/DE - Alabama

Still no change here...personally I still like Fairley better than Dareus, but I'm not turning in the draft cards. Dareus next to Elvis Dumerville will be a nice combo for the Ponies.
Picture

Blaine Gabbert  - QB - Missouri

I heard an interview with Chan Gailey on Sirius NFL Radio the other day where he was talking about passing on potential "Franchise" QB's at the top of the draft and how it hurts teams long-term. I think he'll pull the trigger on Gabbert here.
Picture

Nick Fairley - DT - Auburn

Upset special...no one has Fairley going here, but when you look at the Bengals needs (other than potentially a QB) DL sticks out like a sore thumb. I think Fairley is a beast and the Bengals have never been afraid to gamble on character guys.
Picture

Von Miller - LB - Texas A&M

Arizona needs a QB, but after struggling with two rookies last season I think they'll try to fill QB with a veteran and they luck out that Miller falls into their laps at #5 as he'll be a great fit for the Cards.
Picture

Julio Jones - WR - Oklahoma

I'm really torn here between Jones, AJ Green and Robert Quinn. I think there is more depth at DL in the draft so they go for the #1 receiver they've been missing for year and Big 12 enemies Colt McCoy and Julio Jones look to be a great combo for the Brownies.
Picture

Patrick Peterson - CB - LSU

San Fran was thinking Prince Amukamara going into the draft but somehow end up with Peterson! Jim Harbaugh is doing a happy dance somewhere.
Picture

Robert Quinn - DE - North Carolina

Everyone in the world has Nick Fairley here, but in my world, he's gone already. The Titans need a true DE in the 4-3 so they go with the best one in the draft and take Quinn.
Picture

Prince Amukamara - CB - Nebraska

Amukamra, in my opinion, will be a serviceable but not great CB in the NFL, but most teams view him as the #2 CB in the draft. Everyone also has Tyron Smith going here, but that's not flashy enough for Jerry Jones. They go with the Prince!
Picture

A.J. Green - WR - Georgia

Rumors are spreading about Mike Shanahan wanting Jake Locker here...really? Locker was average at best and may even be available in the second round. The 'Skins go WR and grab a stud in A.J. Green.
Picture

J.J. Watt - DE - Wisconsin

Watt will fit as a 5-technique in Wade Phillips' new 3-4 defense in Houston. They need DB's, but don't be surprised if they throw bags of money at Nnamdi Asomugha when free agency finally hits.
Picture

Tyron Smith - OT - USC

Smith slides slightly in my opinion but ends up in Minnesota where he can play RT and Phil Loadholdt can move in to Guard.
Picture

Anthony Castonzo - OT -  BC

Castonzo is a solid all-around tackle who'll start on Opening Day for the Lions and hopefully bring some stability to the O-Line which hasn't been able to keep Stafford upright. Castonzo is smart and tough...attributes Head Coach Jim Swartz is going to love.
Picture

Da'Quan Bowers - DE - Clemson

Bowers had top 5 talent but is the biggest faller in Round 1 due to a sub-par pro day and major injury concerns about his knee. If he does get healthy it'll be a fantastic tandem of Bowers and Chris Long in St. Louis.
Picture

Gabe Carimi - OT - Wisconsin

Carimi looks like a steady RT candidate for the NFL and he'll help the Dolphins running game at either RT or Guard. Everyone in the world has Miami taking Ingram and I really see them going that route in Round 2 or 3. Don't be surprised if Ryan Mallett ends up here!
Picture

Aldon Smith - DE - Missouri

Smith will play alongside the young D-lineman in Jacksonville and hopefully get some pressure for Jack Del Rio and the Jags.
Picture

Mark Ingram - RB - Alabama

I hate the Patriots...they get tons of picks and luck out getting solid guys with each pick. I see Ingram similar to Emmitt Smith...but without the Hall of Fame O-line in front of him.
Picture

Phil Taylor - DT - Baylor

Taylor is a run-stuffing NT who will fit in perfectly with the Chargers 3-4 defense. He's an immediate upgrade for the Bolts' defense.
Picture

Akeem Ayers - LB - UCLA

I'm moving Ayers into Round 1 more due to the lack of impact LB's in this year than the fact that I think he's worth the pick. You'll hear boo's coming from Giants fans initially, but when they realize how badly they need LB's they'll change their tone quickly.
Picture

Cameron Jordan - DE - Cal

The Bucs made huge strides in 2010 even if it was beating up on sub-.500 teams. They tried addressing the D-line in the 2010 draft and will go back to the well again in 2011 looking for a pass rusher to play next to Gerald McCoy.
Picture

Mike Pouncey - C/G - Florida

Pouncey is versatile enough to play C, G or even RT. He's a lineman anyone could love, and Scott Pioli will snap him up quickly.
Picture

Nate Solder - OT - Colorado

I still have Solder as my top tackle for long-term potential in the draft. A ginormous human being with good feet is a good combination for a LT. He's a good pass-blocker who'll fit nicely with the Colts.
Picture

Aaron Williams - CB - Texas

There is talk that Williams may look and play more like a Safety than a Corner. The Eagles need help at both spots in their secondary so they go with Williams here hoping he can help and one of those spots.
Picture

Rahim Moore - S - UCLA

Moore is the best safety in the draft and the Saints luck out as he falls to them here in the draft. He'll replace Darren Sharper in a year but can get his feet wet in 2011.
Picture

Brandon Harris - CB - Miami

Harris looked fluid at the combine and in the highlights I've seen of him and, in my opinion, is the #2 CB behind Peterson. The Ravens couldn't cover the Browns' receivers in 2010 and that should tell you that they need help in the secondary.
Picture

Marvin Austin - DT - North Carolina

Big, athletic and mean. Marvin Austin was a beast at his pro day and may have jumped up into Round 1 ahead of a couple other DT prospects in this draft.
Picture

Cameron Heyward - DE - Ohio State

Some project Heyward as a 3-4 DE but I think he's quick enough to play LE in a 4-3 front and will learn a thing or two from John Abraham in Atlanta. This may be the homer in me coming out, but I think Heyward is going to be awesome in the NFL.
Picture

Justin Houston - LB - Georgia

The Pats have been trying to get younger at LB for a couple of years but still have some needs. They have 100 picks in this draft so they go LB here and look for OL help at the top of Round 2.
Picture

Corey Liuget - DT - Illinois

Da Bears released DT Tommie Harris this off-season and need to fill that hold. Liuget is the best DL on the board here and is the pick for the Bears. He'll make a short trip from Champagne to Chicago and be a solid contributor.
Picture

Muhammed Wilkerson - DT - Temple

I don't watch too many Temple Owls football games, but I did see Wilkerson at the combine and he looked very agile and quick for a LARGE man. He's a versatile DL and can play anywhere on the line in a 3-4 defense.
Picture

Jimmy Smith - CB - Colorado

Smith is the best CB on the board and the Steelers are a solid organization so they'll straighten out whatever issues he may have. He'll be an instant upgrade at CB which was the Steelers biggest weakness in 2010.
Picture

Derrick Sherrod - OT - Mississippi St.

The Pack are solid almost everywhere, but aren't great up from so they take Sherrod here who gives them depth and a potential starter.
