Robert Griffin III - QB - Baylor

The Redskins pushed all their chips to the middle of the table by making a blockbuster trade for the right to take RG3. Hopefully for him he plays well because he seems like a genuine guy and is a good story. 

Matt Kalil - LT - USC

Teams with a gaping hole at LT rarely pass up on the chance to take a prototype LT like Kalil. Minnesota won't either.

Justin Blackmon - WR - Oklahoma St.

I think they Browns will get calls from St. Louis wanting to trade up to this spot to take Blackmon, but it sounds like Holmgren is pissed at St. Louis so I'm guessing the price to move up to this spot went way up with the Rams trade to Washington. I may change my mind on this eventually - but for now it's Blackmon.

Morris Claiborne - CB - LSU

First, as a Browns fan who watched Eric Wright get burnt constantly with the Browns, I can't belive the contract he got in Tampa. Greg Schiano is a defensive coach and he's going to want to go defense with his first pick in the NFL. Claiborne will contribute immediately and take over for Ronde Barber.

Michael Floyd - WR - Notre Dame

I was out in front of the Cam Newton going #1 overall bandwagon last year and I'm driving the Floyd as a top 6 pick bandwagon this. The Rams will try, unsuccessfully, to move up with the Browns and will ultimately settle for Floyd who is going to be a solid pro.

Dre Kirkpatrick - CB - Alabama

This is the hardest pick for me in the entire first round. I wouldn't be surprised to see JAX try to move up with Tampa to get Mo Claiborne, but if they can't I can see them stretching for Kirkpatrick who has a high ceiling...if he can keep from getting high himself. 

Ryan Tannehill - QB - Texas A&M

The Dolphins struck out like Dave Kingman in their pursuit of a QB in free agency, but they take Tannehill here to reunite him with his college coach, Mike Sherman, from Texas A&M. 

Dontari Poe - DT - Memphis

Sticking with same pick here. Poe is this year's version of Phil Taylor whom the Browns picked in the middle of the first round. He dominated the Senior Bowl, had an outstanding combine and is a bit of an underachiever. The Panthers need D-Line help badly and this is one LARGE piece of that puzzle. 

Riley Reiff - T - Iowa

I had Quentin Coples here in my last mock, but some guy named Mario Williams changes this pick. I don't like this guu, but Reiff helps the Bills terrible O-line immediately. Reiff had really short arms at the combine (like former Iowa "can't miss" tackle Robert Gallery) and that's why I think he flops at LT, and ends up at Guard.

Melvin Ingram - DE/LB - South Carolina

Samp pick here. I think if somehow Ryan Tannehill falls to this spot he may be a surprise pick. Romeo Crennel will look for playmakers on defense and Ingram can be that guy. He can play OLB in the Chiefs' 3-4 and help their pass russ from day one.

Quinton Coples - DE - North Carolina

Big, strong, fast, looks like a beast...but plays like a girl. Pete Carroll is a coach who can motivate, so with a little coaching and a kick in the ass he may be a steal at this pick. 

Luke Kuechly - LB - Boston College

I watched Keuchly at the combine and I don't think he'd be able to cover me in pass defense, but he was a beast against the run in college. I think he's a tiny bit overrated (I want to see a mean streak from my MLB) but he's the pick here.

Mark Barron - S - Alabama

I predicted the 'Boys would get a corner in free agency and they did. Now they try to fill another need and take the best Safety in the draft. 

Michael Brockers - DT - LSU

The most underrated move of the off-season is the Eagles trading for MLB DeMeco Ryans. Now the Eagles can focus on another area of their defense and select Brockers who is a big space-eater on the D-line with a lot of upside. He wasn't overly productive at LSU but he's a risk worth taking.

Dont'a Hightower - LB - Alabama

None of the experts will put Hightower here, but he's probably the best MLB left on the board. Most will think this is "too high" but what does that actually mean? If he's projected to be picked around #25 and be a good player, why can't he be picked at #16 and be a good player? 

Trent Richardson - RB - Alabama

Really? This low? Yep, despite his potential and skills RB's just aren't valued any more. Just ask Peyton Hillis and his $2.6 million contract or Michael Bush and his $3.5 million contract. Don't rule out the Browns trying to trade up in front of this spot to get Richardson.

Courtney Upshaw - LB - Alabama

The Chargers defense has gone from dominant to no-name in a hurry. Think about it for a second...name two players on the Chargers' defense. They need help everywhere and take the best available player in Upshaw.

Cordy Glenn - T - Georgia

A lot of people think Glenn will play guard in the NFL but he is huge, has long arms, moves well and played tackle very well at Georgia. Don't be surprised if he goes way higher than this, but the Bears need interior line help and help at RT too. 

Kendall Wright - WR - Baylor

Same pick here. Wright looked good at his Pro Day with RG3 and solidified himself as the #3 WR in the draft. I've said it before, there's a difference before 40 speed and game speed and Wright has a different gear in the games.  

Stephen Hill - WR - Georgia Tech

The Bengals hit a home run with A.J. Green last season and this year they take another WR to pair with him on the other side of the field in Stephen Hill. He's big and fast and will help eliminate double teams for Green. 

David DeCastro - G - Stanford

The Browns released LG Eric Steinbach who was getting long in the tooth and coming off back surgery - neither of which are good for an OL. DeCastro can step in and play LG immediately. A boring pick but a need and solid player. Weeden was a thought but he gets taken in Round 2.

Jonathan Martin - T - Stanford

Same pick here. Some people feel Martin is a top ten pick...not in my world. Is he solid, yes, but I think this is about right for him and I almost penciled him in for the Browns one pick earlier to play RT. 

Lamar Miller - RB - Miami

With Rashard Mendenhall out for the year the Steelers need a RB. People didn't hear much about Miller when he was at Miami but he's an athlete who can catch the ball and runs hard.

Devon Still - DT - Penn State

Same pick. Still didn't dominate in college like he should have, but he is an immediate upgrade on the defense for the Broncos. PS - not related but I'd put money on it Denver signs Vince Young to back up Tebow this year. He can run the same offense as Tebow and is a plug and play guy for that offense.

Alameda Ta'amu - DT - Washington

Ta'amu is a huge nose tackle prospect with a high motor and another guy who dominated the Senior Bowl. He's a 3-4 guy and with the Texans new-look defense he'll plug the middle to open up lanes for Brian Cushing and my boy Brooks Reed. 

Janoris Jenkins - CB - North Alabama

The Pats need DBs in the worst way so they're willing to gamble with this pick and take the talented Jenkins who was a star at Florida before transferring due to off-field issues. 

Jerel Worthy - DL - Michigan St.

The Packers need some help on their D-line so they take a talented DT in Jerel Worthy. He'll eat some blockers for the Pack freeing up Matthews to rush the QB more often.

Nick Perry - DE/OLB - USC

The Ravens will take the best player on the board who also fills a need for them. Perry played DE in college but looks like a solid 3-4 OLB prospect.

Whitney Mercilus - DE - Illinois

The 49ers take a guy who can rush the QB opposite of 2011 first-round standout Aldon Smith and they improve their already stout defense.

Harrison Smith - S - Notre Dame

Same Pick - Two Notre Dame players in the first round!? Yep, barely, but it's true. Smith looked much more fluid and athletic than the other safeties at the combine and has production in college to back it up. 

Stephon Gilmour - CB - S. Carolina

The Super Bowl champs take the best player on the board and get a solid corner who can play right away.
